Rautio Trio: Chamber Music in Chiswick

In 2016 the Rautio Trio launched a new series of one hour family friendly concerts a stone’s throw from Turnham Green station. Five beautiful chamber music programmes were curated by the award-winning trio. Details of the 2016 concert programmes are listed below.

April 14 Shakespeare, 400 years anniversary

Celebrating Shakespeare, 400 years anniversary
This special concert features a vivid selection of music on the theme of Shakespeare set alongside some well-known monolgues read by our guest actor. Beethoven’s famously atmospheric ‘Ghost’ Trio, Corelli’s virtuosic ‘La Follia’ violin variations, ‘After Reading Shakespeare’ by Ned Roram for solo cello and other pieces all inspired by Shakespeare. It’s feast of music!

May 12 For the Countess: Mozart's Women

Join us for Mozart’s flamboyant trio in B-flat & Beethoven’s wonderful ‘Gassenhauer Trio’. Countess Thun was described by Mozart “as the most charming and lovable lady I have ever met” and Beethoven dedicated his early trio to her. Hear these stunning pieces paired with readings from Mozart’s letters.

June 2 Passion & Fire from Buenos Aires

An evening of Argentinian tango music and dance

The Rautio Piano Trio are thrilled to be joined by Bianca and Sacha from Rojo y Negro Tango Club who will be dazzling us with their dancing during the concert. Experience the music of Astor Piazzolla and Argentinian Tango. Sit back and relax as the trio are joined by tango dancers. The concert is followed by a taster tango lesson for those who would like to have a go! Everyone is welcome and no prior experience necesssary. Afterwards we’ll have a Milonga until 10pm!

July 7 Summer Gala Concert

The Rautio Piano Trio will be joined by wonderful viola player Robin Ashwell from the Sacconi Quartet to perform a medley of popular chamber music pieces, trios and quartets for the final concert of the season. Featuring exquisite chamber music from Mozart and Beethoven to Faure and Brahms piano quartets. Solo virtuosos pieces by De Falla, Cassado and Ireland.

2017 Concerts
